A surveillance footage emerged and has been widely circulated by activists and military commanders. The video shows a group affiliated with Hamza division storming into al-Hikma hospital in al-Bab city in eastern rural Aleppo.
A group led by Hamed al-Boulad, AKA al-Yaba, has stormed into the hospital and attacked a medical staff worker for unknown reasons. The group has also threatened the aforementioned worker and a number of women at the hospital at gunpoint.
The attack has sparked general strike and angry protests in al-Bab with residents condemning the violation of sanctity of hospitals, medical points and civil facilities. Protestors have also demanded ‘recalcitrants’ to be held accountable.
Meanwhile, Mustafa Seijari, a member of the political office of Hamza division, tweeted, “These acts that have been committed in FSA-held liberated areas against civilians in al-Bab city, are very painful and unjustified”.
Seijari added, “Attacking hospitals, women, girls, and unarmed men indicates a lack of honor and manners. Only a cheap criminal would commit these acts”.
Following the incident, Hamed al-Boula and his group received a dishonorable discharge from Hamza division. They were also referred to military court.
