Local Council in Ariha Rehabilitates Homes to Receive Displaced Civilians from Eastern Ghouta

The local council of the city of Ariha in Idlib province, announced its intention to rehabilitate partially damaged houses , on the condition that the owner of the house must shelter a displaced family from Eastern Ghouta for at least a period of one year.

The Ariha LC released a statement, and in addition to the aofrementioned condition, it also stated the following: “Those wishing to rehabilitate their homes according to the aofrementioned condition, must come forward to the council within a maximum of two days from the date of the announcement”.

Thousands of families were forcibly displaced from their homes in Eastern Ghouta, and have arrived to the province of Idlib. Some were transferred to temporary shelters. Idlib province in turn, has become densely populated, and this created an incentive for renters to raise rents, that the displaced families cannot afford.
